Ian has been a professional photographer for some 28 years now , he grew up in a house that smelt of stop bath and absorbed photography at a very early age , bucking the education system , he placed an advert in the local newspaper at the age of 18 then waited for the phone to ring , it didn't, well not much , and while still living at home with his parents and helping his dad with the printing of every day jobs he slowly built up some regular clients.
Having struggled along getting work here and there he finally got a break getting a full time job working for a group of consumer magazines , one of them being 'Traditional Homes' , which is now obsolete , but as staff photographer travelled up and down the country sometimes abroad following up assignments set by the editorial staff, here he learnt and self taught how to shoot interior features in particular.
He was then made redundant and went back freelance and hit the ground running becoming a regular contributor to a whole group of magazines such as 'House beautiful', 'Ideal Home',' Homes and Antiques', 'Country homes and interiors','Perfect Home', 'Woman','Homes and Gardens', to name a few.
Having taken a break from Interior magazines he sometimes works for Classicpix as a freelancer whenever they get snowed under. He is working on his own projects in the meantime.
